During the getting ready part of your wedding day you’ll be able to use the estate house for all your getting ready needs. The top floor of the house is geared towards the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready at. Most brides opt to get ready in the massive master bedroom that comes equipped a couple of hair and make up vanity stations, which your hair stylist and makeup artist will love. Besides this there is a ton of room for lots of ladies to get ready at before the start of your ceremony in this master bedroom. There are also a couple of other bedrooms on that main floor that can be used for getting ready if you want to spread out and not all be in the master bedroom. Located on the bottom floor is the Tavern bar and in this area is where most grooms and groomsmen will get ready at. It’s not massive like the upstairs master bedroom, but it’s plenty big enough for all the guys and you to get ready at before the wedding festivities kick off for the day. If for some reason you don’t like the getting ready areas at the estate their are plenty of local hotels and Airbnb’s to get ready at in the greater Sacramento area.
Wedding ceremonies at Wolfe Heights take place out in the garden area just beyond the estate at the Unity Circle. The center piece of the Unity Circle is a massive gazebo where the two of you will be reciting your vows and sharing your first kiss as a married couple. Surrounding the gazebo are benches where your family and friends will be seated during your nuptials. There are four rows of these benches and hedges that surround the gazebo in a 360 degree circle hence this is where they get the name from for the Unity Circle. This site is big enough to host up to 300 of your closest family members and friends. This site is truly a magical place and must be seen in person to really take in the scope of how big the Unity Circle really is. Photos and videos of this ceremony venue do not to it justice.
When your ceremony is over and you’re finishing up family and bridal party photos your guest will be enjoying cocktail hour back at the estate in the courtyard area. Your family and friends will be able to get drinks at the Tavern bar area, while eating hors d’oeuvres that are passed out by the catering company you choose to use on your special day. Your guest are able to walk around and explore the massive garden area beyond the courtyard while they wait for the start of your reception.
When you’re finished with all your formal family and bridal party photos you’ll be able to explore the grounds at Wolfe Heights with your wedding photographer to capture your couples portraits. There are many locations within a short distance to have these special portraits taken of the two of you together at. The first location is the garden area that surrounds the Unity Circle. There are beautiful white rose bushes, green hedges and giant archway hedges that lead you into the Unity Circle. Another area that’s close by is the walkway that boarders the pond. What makes this pathway around the pond so special are the mature weeping willow trees that are located on the edge of the pond. These picturesque trees are a perfect backdrop for portraits of the newly weds. Just beyond the pond is a giant vineyard of grapevines that are perfect anytime of the day, but are set up perfectly for the golden hour part of the evening. When couples choose to get married a winery they are usually wanting to be able to go out into the vineyards during their portrait session and you’re able to do that at Wolfe Heights. The last popular area to have your wedding portraits taken at on this massive property is the olive orchard area. When you walk into the olive tree orchard you are transported into a different world. It makes you feel like you’re in the Tuscany region of Italy and not in Northern California. This orchard is simply stunning with how the late afternoon light shines through the olive trees. The orchard also provides shade, which is perfect on those hot Sacramento days. There are many other areas to have your portraits taken at around the grounds, but these are the top four areas that most couples have their pictures taken at.
Receptions events and meal services will take place next to the estate in the courtyard area. The courtyard is big enough to host events with up to 300 guest, which is one of the biggest in the Sacramento area. More than half the courtyard is shaded with mature sized trees, which is a blessing during those hot summer evenings here in the greater Sacramento area. In the center of the courtyard is a elegant water fountain that adds a calming effect to your party. Beyond that is more room for tables to be set up if your party ends up being on the bigger side. There is also a built in concert dance floor that is attached to the courtyard. This dance floor is almost a complete circle that jets out from the courtyard and is large enough to host the biggest of dance parties once your reception events are finished for the evening.
