North Tahoe Event Center is located on the sandy shores of Lake Tahoe in the quiet mountain town of Kings Beach, California. The event center is located in the center of this rustic town and is just a stones throw from the waters edge. This event center is one of the very few remaining locations to host your special day on the lakeshore of Tahoe. The event center building is the center of this property and inside this massive 4,800 square foot building is where at least half of the wedding celebrations will take place at.
Most wedding venues have a getting ready rooms or bridal suites for bridal parties to get ready in. Well North Tahoe Event Center is not like most venues as they only have one tiny room for the bride to get ready in. When I say tiny it is very tiny. With that being said all couples along with their bridal parties get ready off site at one of the many hotels or rental homes in the surrounding North Lake Tahoe area around Kings Beach. Luckily there are some hotels super close by and some townhouse next door that are available to rent out for the getting ready part of your day.
The number one reason why couples choose to host their wedding day at North Tahoe Event Center is the ceremony location. The ceremony site is situated at the back of the building on a patio that meets up to the sandy lakeshore of Tahoe and has the most amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountain peaks. This venue is one of the very few locations left where you’re able to get married on the lakeshore of Tahoe. Just this alone is why some many couples tie the knot here. The ceremonies here are very beautiful with Lake Tahoe as your backdrop and as the sun sets behind you during your nuptials. If for some reason the weather isn’t cooperating during your special day the event center will have the option for your ceremony to take place indoors in one of the many conference rooms. Having this plan b is huge since some Tahoe venues don’t have option for their clients. With that being said weddings can be hosted year around at this venue.
When your ceremony is over and you’re having family and bridal party photos taken your guest will be enjoying cocktail hour out on the beach front terrace next to the ceremony site. During this time your guest will be enjoying drinks and eating hors d’oeuvres from the catering company you choose to use on your special day. They’ll also be able to walk around the grounds and take in the views of the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. Your guest also have the option to go indoors and relax during this part of your wedding day.
When the two of you are finished with all your bridal party and formal family portraits you’ll be able to go out with your wedding photographer for your couple’s portraits. The main location for these types of photos is out on the sandy lake shore of Tahoe. Depending on what time of the year it is the beach can be super crowded since it’s a public beach and not private. Some couples will still have their portraits taken down by the lake during the summer months, but then will go explore other locations for portraits. Down the way by the park are some nice wooded areas with lake views that are perfect for portraits and not as crowded during the day time. Just a short walk away is a public pier that is perfect for these types of photos and is stunning during golden hour. With golden hour in mind most all newly weds set aside some time during their reception to go back out for sunset photos along the lakeshore. During those crowded summer months this is usually the only time you’ll have access to take these lakeside photos without having masses of people in the background of your pictures. The huge bonus of the event center is that it’s location is set up perfect for sunset photos with the sun dipping behind the mountains in the background of your photographs.
When your portrait session wraps up and cocktail hour is coming to an end your reception events and dinner service will take place inside in one of the many conference rooms. Depending on how many family and friends you invite to your wedding day will determine which room your reception events will take place in. The most popular and used room is the Lakeview Suite, which has those stunning views of Lake Tahoe. Again this one of the main reasons couples choose to book this venue due to those amazing lakeside views. This room can hold up to about 130 guest. In the center of the building is the Aspen and Lodgepole rooms when combining these two rooms together you can host up to 280 guest for your reception. When your dinner service is finished and the speeches are done for the evening you’ll be able to dance the night away with your family and friends. For the guest who don’t like to dance they are more than welcome to go back out onto the beach front terrace and enjoy the evening mountain air next to the lake.
